Five on Friday - Summer Part II

Happy Friday, friends! I got a little taste of summer this week, but I was also teaching summer school so it's been hard for me to really go full blown summer (you know, not showering for a week and adjusting our sleep schedule to 6 am instead of 5 am). However, my official summer starts today! I ushered my students out the door at 11 am yesterday and drove straight home to the pool to lay out with a good book...ooooor I headed home to meet the plumber so he could fix our toilet and outside faucets. I lead a really glamorous life.

As luck would have it, summer school ended yesterday and my babies have one more day of daycare before they're officially out for summer. Soooo, I am, for the first time ever, taking them to school in just a bit and having some "me time". I'm cashing in on a massage gift card, eating a really long lunch and Orange is the New Black is out today so that's easily going to eat up the rest of my day. It's even date night! I am probably a little more excited than I should be about this day.

TWO.

So a long time ago....this room was painted a baby poop gold color with a dark blue accent wall. Actually the whole house was painted a variation of baby poop when we purchased it. So Chris and I, pre-kids, systematically painted every single wall in our house. Primarily, Revere Pewter by Benjamin Moore, a lovely Greige color. Somewhere along the way though, I got tired of painting grey and lost my mind. I decided we NEEDED to paint the largest room in our house a vibrant green color. Chris reminded me that, at the time, he protested, but I quickly shut him down with "not every room in our house can be grey!". Yeah, I stand by that statement, but does it need to be neon green?!

So now that I spend a lot of time up here with the kids and we have our "theater" set up, the green HAS to go. I'm thinking a variation of this color, but what do y'all recommend? I'll never live this down, but I've been given a do-over so it has to be right this time!

THREE.

I finally found a kid-proof swimsuit that is still attractive. It was a huge splurge from Athleta, but totally worth it. The bottoms and tops are mix and match, which I LOVE. I got a slight boy short bottom, because I've just never been a fan of my rear hanging out and although I am not a fan of "tankinis", this blousey swim tank is so perfect for teaching my girl how to swim. No accidental peep shows here!

FOUR.

Speaking of swimming, we finally checked out our neighborhood pool after living here for 5 years. Zoey had a blast and remembered most of her swim skills from last year. We just need to work on jumping FORWARD (not straight up) from the edge of the pool.

I loved this little 1.5 foot, shaded kiddie pool too.

I've never seen her so exhausted. She crashed within minutes of sitting down.

FIVE.

Just some cuteness from the week.

Wish me luck this coming week as I take on my summer job of stay at home mommy! I'm a little nervous to have a toddler who doesn't nap and an infant who is still breastfeeding. How do y'all structure your day where the toddler still has fun, but the baby stays fed and happy? Help a sister out with some ideas!

I hope you all have a marvelous weekend! Linking up!

See y'all next week!

Five on Friday - SUMMER

Hi there! It's Friday once again and I am thankful for that. Today was technically the last day of school (I got suckered into summer school) and I always feel weird because I'm sending off my "babies" and some of them, I may never see again. It's a weird feeling to say goodbye each year and the send off just seems so inadequate for the 3 years spent with these sweet kids. Speaking of sweet kids though...let's talk about my five.

ONE.

Zoey had a BLAST at her birthday party last weekend! It was super windy, but otherwise great and she was just over the moon that her school friends came to celebrate with her. She also got her hair cut for the first time! She got to watch Cinderella during the cut, had a manicure, and her hair braided. It was a big weekend.

I also ordered her a LuLaRoe dress and OMG...I want to buy ALL the kids LLR dresses! Sassy.

TWO.

In all that excitement, my baby did turn THREE. Every year, I take a picture at exactly 7:50 AM (the time she was born) on her birthday. It was one of the very best moments in my life - the moment my sweet baby girl arrived and made me the luckiest mommy on the planet. Oh how she's grown.

Speaking of luckiest mommy on the planet. Luke decided to fall asleep on me for the first time in months and I did not hate it. He also tried carrots for the first time and LOVED them! He is so happy to be eating real food. He sits at the dinner table and watches us intently when we eat. He thinks its rude how much we eat and don't share. Soon little guy, soon.

FOUR.

Tuesday was a GOOD mail day! A bunch of Old Navy clothes for the kids and a new swimsuit for me! I finally broke down and bought an Athleta swimsuit. I'm super happy - it's not mom-ish but provides support and coverage for running after littles! I also received my Chloe & Isabel "swag bag" from an online pop-up I hosted!

Love this jewelry!

FIVE.

My attitude this week. I don't like being grumpy and negative but I just couldn't dig myself out this week. Mostly due to lack of sleep and stress. Summer with my babies is the only thing keeping me sane right now. I will persist!

Linking up! Here's to a less grumpy and more fabulous weekend!

See y'all next week!

Five on Friday - It's the BIG Weekend!

Happy Friday, friends! I am so incredibly happy to be posting this Five on Friday as it is the long awaited four day weekend, before the long awaited last week of school. Tunnel, light.

One.

Zoey conned me into walking over to our neighborhood park last weekend...little did we know there would be not one, but TWO bounce houses, firefighters, a fire TRUCK, police officers, hot dogs, AND cookies!! Best day ever for this toddler.

Two.

We also visited the scene of Zoey's birthday party and clearly I have the smartest husband ever. Convince the toddler it'll be fun to push daddy...check.

Three.

Lukie was a good sport at the park; he is such a little champ. Look at all that unassisted sitting he's doing! He's so close.

Four.

Honi's Coffee came to our school yesterday and made iced coffees in the morning and shakes at lunch time. Our front office is amazing and knows just what we need to survive.

Five.

Zoey's THIRD birthday is Saturday and we are celebrating her all weekend!! Today, I'm keeping her home from school and we're going to have some mommy-daughter fun and she's getting her first haircut! Then, it's party time at Mickey Park with all of her friends. It's going to be a full weekend - I just hope it doesn't go too fast.

Have an amazing weekend! Linking up.

See ya next week!

Five on Friday - Where does the time go?!

Hi, hello there! Happy Friday! I really can't believe it's already Friday again. This week flew by and I'm happy to report that I'm starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel for this school year. It's been a decent week and I'm looking forward to a fun weekend ahead!

One.

As most of you know, I have become OBSESSED with Lipsense. I entered a little Mother's Day giveaway and WON! I seriously never win anything and this made my week. She included the matte gloss and I love it. If you'd like to check out Lipsense, and don't already know someone who sells it, let me know and I'll send you to my coworker.

Two.

I had such a wonderful Mother's Day! I love my babies so much and really enjoyed my day soaking up time with them. Luke tried his first bowl of cereal and gobbled it right up. He's already a pro and can't wait to eat veggies in a few weeks. Where does the time go? Zoey is always available to help feed him too - her method of shoving it in his mouth receives mixed reviews.

Three.

Speaking of time...this sassy girl turns THREE a week from tomorrow. I can't believe it. This girl is everything. She is working on potty training herself, is desperately trying to kick that mid-day nap, speaks in full and complete sentences, and is such a caring, loving, imaginative, and energetic doll. I can't imagine life without her! We are so excited to celebrate her next weekend and throw her first party where HER friends are invited too.

Four.

This guy rolled over from back to front just yesterday and is really just a few weeks away from sitting on his own. Again...WHERE does the time go?

Luke smiles with his WHOLE face. He is about to turn FIVE months at the end of May. I can't believe it.

Five.

Five on Friday - TGIF!

"You there! Friday! You sexy son of b! I've been waiting for you since Monday!" It was a very tough week of state testing and a Friday from you know where, but there are 13 days left this year and a light at the end of the tunnel. I always get very hopeful this time of year, that I can start all over next year and do things better - its the silver lining. Here are my five for this week!

One.

We had a great weekend! Zoey attended her first school friend birthday party and had a BLAST. We've invited all of her school friends to her birthday party in a few weeks too. I love that she immediately mounted the highest balance beam and the word confidence is behind her.

Zoey fished for the first time ever, we enjoyed Mexican food on Seis de Mayo, and general family snuggles.

We also threw a little family engagement party for Mark and his fiance, Talia. So excited for Chris's baby brother!

Two.

I got my 23 and me results back! Not shocking information for me, although I did find out that I carry a marker for hereditary deafness. Very interesting stuff.

Three.

I haven't been able to host my LLR party yet due to all of the stuff going on lately, but I did attend a coworkers online party. I won a free pair of leggings and bought the greatest dress! I am skeptical of the leggings, but a huge fan of the dresses and tops.

Four.

My very thoughtful husband surprised me with flowers one evening when I got home from work!

and my coworker is feeding my sticker addiction. She gets me.

Although it was still a frustrating and hard week, there were so many positive aspects. It's hard to be down about any of it.

Five.

It was such a beautiful evening outside. I'm so glad Zoey dragged us out back for some play time. Luke was so intently watching Zoey and giggling at her swinging that I decided to take him for a swing. He. LOVED. it. I love my children so much.

I also really love wine. and ice cream.

I am enjoying a glass (or two) and Chris is playing on the switch, which we may or may not have purchased last weekend. It's a good Friday.

Linking up!

Have a fantastic weekend and a very happy Mother's day!! See y'all next week!
