Five on Friday - FOUR day weekend!

I have been back to work for a whole 8 days and I'm probably the most excited about this FOUR day weekend! It feels like Saturday to me and wrong to be typing up my Five on FRIDAY this morning. Chris even gets the day off so it's a huge super bonus to have an extra day with him! Life. is. good.

ONE.

We attended the annual Journey of Hope Breakfast with the Easter Bunny. It is by far my most favorite charity event we do all year. The breakfast is amazing and Zoey has a blast playing the games, visiting the musical petting zoo, and participating in the Easter egg hunt. The only downside to this year's event was the Frozen bike up for raffle...we walked away with a very teary toddler and a birthday wish to fulfill. Overall it was a super fun morning though!

TWO.

Now that our siding is freshly painted, we've been fixing up our backyard patio. Chris got rid of my shredded (cat) outdoor rug and replaced it with some awesome wood tiles from IKEA. These two have really been enjoying the extra outside time since the weather has been so beautiful.

THREE.

We had an impromptu date night last weekend. We planned to go see a movie, but it just didn't work out so we settled for dinner at Grub Burger Bar. We are SO glad we missed the movie - both of us had forgotten how nice a dinner without kids could be.

FOUR.

I noticed one of my favorite bracelets had fallen off when I got to school and upon further investigation, I found it was broken. Normally I'd be devastated, but lucky for me, it's Chloe and Isabel. So I hopped on my phone, submitted a picture of the damage, and they shipped me a new one, free of cost! I'll have to do a post about my obsession soon (not paid or compensated for saying these things, just obsessed with beautiful jewelry).

FIVE.

We are looking forward to a beautiful weekend outside, Easter baskets, time with family, my girls' night and LuLaRoe pop-up, and a mommy and Zoey day of fun on Monday. Enjoy this beautiful weekend!

Five on Friday - Back to Work

Hello, friends! I'm here to tell you that I survived my first week back to work. I am full of lots of emotions - thankfulness for my wonderful administration and team for the support this week, love for so many coworkers who have become friends, sadness to leave my baby, stress to get caught up and pump enough to feed my hungry boy, joy for doing something I love and am good at, desperation to be at home with my babies full time, tired. I'm just running on moxie at this point, but I wanted to at least post my five, because I really do love keeping up with this little blog.

Also, so many of you filled me in on what's to love about Lularoe and one of my girlfriends from high school is a distributor, so lucky me - she was willing to come down to host a pop-up next Saturday, April 15th at 5 PM. She has a huge inventory and I'm so excited to try on and find some fun items. Let me know if you want to swing by and I'll send details.

On to my five.

One.

How we felt about the weekend ending and the work week beginning. Luke has done an outstanding job at school this week though. He's gone through about 900 onesies and has really enjoyed socializing with the other babies. He's falling into a routine and getting comfortable enough to take longer naps. Very thankful for a loving environment to bring him and Zoey to each day.

Two.

The mornings are a marathon. Wake up at 5:30, 5-10 minutes for make-up and hair, change and dress Luke, feed Luke, pump, get dressed, wake up Zoey, change and dress Zoey, make sure the pumped milk makes it into the fridge, brew coffee (decaf due to nursing, but I like to pretend its caffeinated at least), pack lunches, snacks, bottles, load work bag, pump bag, my lunch and sometimes Zoey's lunch, 2 backpacks, jackets, and breakfast for me and Zoey, buckle Luke into his car seat, load Luke in the car, negotiate Zoey into her seat depending on the level of threenager that day, and roll out. By the time I get both kids safely dropped off at school and I'm heading to work, I've accomplished enough for the day. It'll get easier, right? right?

Three.

I'm thinking about ordering a couple of swimsuits from cupshe. I've read some decent reviews about the site and their suits are well reviewed. Any thoughts? These are the two I had narrowed it down to a while ago. I'd love a one piece too. Basically anything that won't be pulled down when I'm in the pool with the kiddos - learned my lesson during swim lessons with Zoey last summer. Yikes.

Four.

I just ran across this on Instagram. So true. I sometimes try to connect with the mommy's at daycare and this is pretty much what I sound like. Making new friends is hard!

Five.

Oh. My. Word. - I just got a {fix} and Jamie really outdid herself (hey, girl!). I love every single thing she sent me. This outfit actually got a glowing review from a normally very sweet, but not overly enthusiastic Chris. I'll post the whole fix sometime this weekend - it's by far my most favorite fix and I've had...a few...over the past few years.

Bonus.

Cute kids. I love the heck out of these two.

This weekend we are relaxing, getting ready for a FOUR day week (woohoo, Good Friday!), and having some fun at the Journey of Hope Breakfast with the Easter Bunny event.

Have a fab weekend. See y'all soon.

Five on Friday - The Last Week

Hello, again!! Here we are, another week gone by too quickly and the last of my maternity leave. I have mixed emotions about returning to work. I'm sad to leave my baby behind, nervous about pumping again, and excited to return to the land of sassy pre-teens, math, adult conversations, and paperwork. That's for another blog post though - here is my five!!

ONE.

Today is this guy's THREE month birthday!! He is just the sweetest baby. He smiles with his entire face and talks to us all the time. He's super ticklish and has the best giggle. He also sleeps through the night and has been for a month. He's amazing!

TWO.

We chose our paint color (Louisburg Green) and the painters arrived yesterday to turn this sad, sad siding into the below beautifulness.

It looks sooooo much better and it looks great with our brick. Now to finish fixing up our backyard and replace the rug that some cat shredded (eye roll).

THREE.

I am loving this lularoe outfit and I'm really sad I didn't buy it, but I got sticker shock from the $90 price tag (for both pieces). Lularoe friends, is it really worth it? I've never purchased anything but I've been stalking several friends who sell it and I'm so intrigued with this look and the kids dresses. Tell me your thoughts.

FOUR.

This song came on Pandora while driving to school one morning and Zoey told me that it was Belle, "another Belle." She's a genius. Sorry not sorry. Also, look at the time....8:14 AM. Ugh, we have been getting to school so late....next week is going to be such a rude awakening.

FIVE.

We had a ridiculous hail storm come through Sunday night. It sounded like bowling balls were hitting the roof. Best we can tell from our unofficial hail assessment, it was more like ping pongs to golf balls. Looks like our roof will continue the good fight. I HATE hail - like more than tornadoes...is that weird?

BONUS.

Zoey attended my friend's daughter's birthday party and probably had the most fun she's had at a birthday party yet - Princess Tea Party (genius). I snapped this pic when she was legit having a sweet little conversation with the birthday girl. Best ever.

This two kids thing...it's good.

I sure am going to miss Target runs with this sweet little man. Summer can't come soon enough.

Here is to a beautiful weekend with sun and happy times with loved ones AND I hope it goes by as slowly as possible. Enjoy!

See you next week!

Five on Friday - F.U.N.

It's Friday once again! Let's get right to my five, a week in review and a few things I'm looking forward to this weekend.

ONE.

Chris and I celebrated our sixth wedding anniversary and our first night out since Luke was born with dinner and Beauty and the Beast. The movie was incredible and I already want to see it again! The margarita was pretty amazing too. It was just sooooo nice to get out with  Chris and I hope we'll be able to do it more frequently now that we're falling into a groove with our new little family of four.

TWO.

My Dad and his wife, Judy, visited this week and I kept Zoey home for a few days to have some fun. We visited the Arboretum for the first time on Tuesday and Zoey LOVED the Children's Adventure Garden. The Tulips and Cherry Blossoms were gorgeous too - so gorgeous that Zoey picked two Tulips (insert embarrassed face). I can't wait to go back again soon - hopefully I can get my little flower thief under control. Seriously, the kids were angels though and Luke rocked that pink hat from his sis. I think I'm getting the hang of this thing just in time to change it up and go back to work. *Notice the shorts and tank top in MARCH?! It was HOT!*

THREE.

We had big plans to go to the Fort Worth Zoo on Wednesday, but after our Arboretum adventure, we decided on a low key day at a local park. Zoey had a blast and the weather was much more pleasant. Luke was such a trooper and is so happy he can now be worn facing out!

FOUR.

Just some family shenanigans. We've had a really good week of family time. I also have to brag on Chris for a second. Luke had an epic poop while we were out at dinner Monday night and we were out of his size 1 diapers in the diaper bag. Chris "Macgyvered" one of Zoey's size 4 diapers on him. He did a really good job! Isn't he cute too?

FIVE.

I'm super excited to be participating in a fertility study with 23 and Me. By participating in this study, I'm getting to learn about my heritage and health for free and potentially earn some amazon gift cards along the way. Woot!

It's been a fun and exhausting week. Today, Luke and I are just laying low, getting laundry done, and watching a little Parenthood. I'm looking forward to a fun weekend with our family of four and my very last week of maternity leave.

Linking up with some lovely bloggers, as always!

Happy Friday! Have a great weekend and I'll see y'all next week!

Five on Friday - More like Ten!

Hi, y'all! Let's just talk candidly for a minute about how terrible time change is and how whoever invented it should be made to live in an eternal time change state with toddlers and infants. Okay, I feel better. After a solid week of HORRIBLE sleep, I think things are finally leveling out. Hooray for Friday and St. Patty's day! Let's get to my five (or maybe ten) this week.

One.

I found some non-toxic polish and painted Zoey's toenails for the wedding! She was SO happy and so good sitting still while they dried. She's still so cute about them and they look so stinkin' adorable. I really love getting the best of both world's with a boy and a girl.

Two.

This is where I pack in several favorites from my sis-in-law's wedding weekend.

Luke's first road trip to Norman and Ardmore Chick-fil-A stop! Both of our kiddos are champions in the car, we are incredibly lucky!

We planned to bath Zoey, before the wedding, at the hotel. Small problem, no bath tub. So, I built up taking a shower as being a really exciting big girl thing, girded my loins, and took her in with me. She did a GREAT job and was so proud of herself, but I don't think she's looking forward to another one anytime soon. She's a bath girl.

It's like the mini fridge in the hotel was made for exactly my needs - to chill 8 mini bottles of champagne. So cute!

My second favorite wedding hair to date.  I had so much fun with this half up-do!

I had my father-in-law take this picture, because someday I'd be laughing about the moment where Luke screamed for an hour and then spit up all down my dress right before the ceremony. I'm happy to report he was a perfect angel for the rest of the night.

Kim was GORGEOUS and the wedding was beautiful. I'm looking forward to their yearly vowel renewals (jk, maybe...)! I'm also pretty partial to this gorgeous little flower girl. After an initial moment of asking "what is that?" about five times when the ceremony started (insert embarrassed emoji x 100), she was also a perfect angel.

The weekend was EXHAUSTING but so worth it to see Kim and Steve so happy and MARRIED! Love those two.

Three.

We arrived home late on Sunday night and I discovered this in my mailbox. My spirit animal, Elizabeth Warren. I plan to wear this and drink out of my Bernie mug for the next 3.75 years (or less?).

Four.

It's time to repaint our siding and we want to punch up the color from beige (yuck) to one of these colors that will hopefully compliment our red brick. Obviously, we are having a tough time deciding. It will mostly show on the back with just a bit of trim on the front of the house. What do y'all think? We need your help!

Five.

Happy St. Patty's day from this cutie! My angel girl looked pretty cute in her green today too, but she wasn't feeling a picture. Maybe next week.

Chris and I are looking forward to celebrating our SIXTH wedding anniversary a day early with an extravagant movie date to see Beauty and the Beast. The weather also looks great for a visit to the park - finally! Have a wonderful weekend!
