Five on Friday - Settling in

Oh boy, am I glad it's Friday! Full weeks after a holiday are HARD. I think I'm settling into the SAHM routine with two though, now that it's almost time to go back to work. I say this all the time, but the days are LONG and the weeks aren't long enough. I'm getting sad that my time will be over with my babies soon. Here's a little recap of the week, courtesy of my five.

ONE.

We wrapped up swim lessons yesterday! Zoey did a great job. She still isn't super comfortable in the water, but she did start to look forward to going every morning. We plan to take her swimming as often as we can for the rest of the season and hopefully frequent the indoor pool this fall and winter to build her confidence. Isn't she adorable?

TWO.

My beach tote arrived last week from Lands' End and I love it!! It's huge and has so many pockets to organize all of our pool gear. I also love all things monogrammed, so this doesn't hurt. Bonus photo of my cutie girl.

THREE.

The choo-choo at the library has been a boredom buster for us this week! We've been twice and will probably head there again today. Pro-tip, go during nap time, we own that place from 1-3 because my kids don't nap.

FOUR.

Luke has mastered the sippy cup! What a big boy! He also fed himself a puff or two - next stop bananas!

Zoey and Luke are starting to play together and it makes my heart so happy! I never quite get the money shot photo because my heart is too busy bursting with love to take a photo. Inevitably, shortly after this, Zoey will love Luke to death and the moment will be over, but it's so great for the short time it happens.

Speaking of photos...Zoey found Chris's old point and shoot and took about 100 photos today. Some of them are good, but every time she took a photo, she'd look at it and laugh hysterically. I'll share some when I have time to go through them all. Kid photography, what a hoot.

FIVE.

I've started having those back to school nightmares that come this time every year. You know, the ones where your class is too full on the first day and you hadn't planned a lesson and were just going to "wing it"...no, just me? Well, I always find a million things I want to do differently and then I make about 2 of them happen. I'm hoping to pull off a more structured classroom with learning zones and a better PBIS system this year.

I also love this for a first day activity.

Nerding out. I do love my job.

BONUS.

As if you don't have enough of your friends selling SOMETHING on Facebook...I've joined the party and signed up to be a Lipsense distributor. I've been loving it since April when my coworker introduced me and should've taken the plunge long ago. I made a separate page for my Lipsense posts so I promise you won't see it on my personal page. Follow along if you're interested - I have a giveaway going right now! Pucker Up by Steph

Have an amazing weekend - may it feel like a long one. Linking up!

See y'all next week!

Five on Friday - Fri-yay!

Hi, Friends! Does it feel like Tuesday to anyone else? I'm having a hard time writing this post, because it truly doesn't feel like Friday. I think the holiday made this week weird, but I won't turn down a Friday!

ONE.

Saturday we spent the day with Chris's family and we were able to sneak away for a kid free Costco trip. We bought ALL THE THINGS. Seriously, you can't even see it all, but it was amazing. You know you're a parent when Costco counts as a date.

I picked up this picture book, read the first page, and impulse bought it. It's so good.

Later that day, I got to spend some solo time with my girl at the park. She has such an imagination!

This was towards the end of our day of playing, drinking, and eating and I had to take a picture of my Lipsense looking amazing. Bombshell is such a great color for light make-up days. I'm looking forward to trying Senegence Shadowsense and Foundation soon. I've heard great things!

TWO.

My Land's End rash guard arrived yesterday! I love it! Hopefully I can test it out this weekend at the pool.

THREE.

Speaking of the pool...Zoey started swim class this week and it's been a struggle for her. She is adamant that she does not want to "go under" and cries when they get her head anywhere near the water. Any tips? I'm not a strong swimmer myself so I totally get where she's coming from, but I want her comfortable in the water.

This is what brother does during swim lessons. Ah the life of an infant.

FOUR.

Big girl bed success! Anyone need an IKEA crib? Zoey has been sleeping in her big girl bed with ZERO issues for the past few days. We had two days of waking up around 3 AM to hear a "squish, squish" of her pull-up walking into our room and a quick redirect back to bed was needed. We determined she just didn't know when to wake-up so a quick trip to Target for an "Okay to Wake" clock and I haven't seen her in our room before 6:15 since. I highly recommend the clock!

She even slept through this MASSIVE thunderstorm the other night. So impressed.

Now it's time to tackle potty training in earnest. *sigh* Any tips there?

FIVE.

Whenever I paint or draw with Zoey, she asks me to draw Disney characters. I can usually get by with a decent Minnie, but this week she asked for Daisy. I did some googling and found this awesome "how to draw" site. I had some fun...

Bonus cuteness from our library trip:

Have a fantastic weekend! Linking up!

Five on Friday - Happy Independence Weekend!

Happy Friday, everyone! The days are long, but the weeks and months are short. Here we are at Friday again and the very last day of June. How did that happen? I'm looking forward to a fun weekend ahead with friends and family. Let's get to my five.

**I started writing this post at 5 AM this morning and my less than 2 years old laptop malfunctioned. It's sort of running now, but I'm mad at PC. Who loves their mac? Worth the price?**

ONE.

I was shopping on Land's End the other night for a monogrammed beach bag and I found this adorable rash guard. I've been talking about getting a rash guard because I'm so rarely in the water past my shins anymore and I burn SO easily. This fits the bill perfectly. I can't wait for it to come in!

TWO.

I scored Zoey the most adorable pair of LuLaRoe leggings. So excited for her to wear them on our upcoming trip! Now I'm after a Disney Mae dress.

I also scored myself a Minnie top from the Disney LLR collection. I love it with my black Madison. I'm really wishing I taught elementary now so I had more of a reason to wear these adorable prints. My middle schoolers will mostly just roll their eyes at me.

THREE.

I took a picture of this wine because it's local, but as I was scrolling, it reminded of how amazing supper club was last Friday. This has been such an amazing, once a month addition to my life. Good friends, conversation, food, and of course wine.

FOUR.

I finally ordered the Kwik Stix Solid Tempera Paints from Amazon last week. I cringed every time Zoey told me she wanted to paint and did everything I could to avoid it. Now, I can bust these babies out whenever she asks. They're amazing. Dad obviously loves them too.

FIVE.

Happy Six Months to this sweet boy! His smile and laugh are EVERYTHING.

Big milestone here, He is sitting unassisted for minutes at a time! He's so close.

Zoey attended a friend's party last Saturday and it was a "princess" party. Probably the cutest thing I've ever seen. She had such a blast with her precious friends and I took so many pictures.

Huge milestone for Zoey too, she slept all night in her big girl bed last night for the first time! She's been fine with her crib for the last 37 months of her life and then yesterday just decided it was time. She's asleep in there again tonight! I need to do some light baby proofing so I'll sleep better though.

Time for me to go to bed so I can wake up in about 6 hours and do it all again! Happy Independence day, everyone! Have a marvelous weekend!

Five on Friday - Family

Happy Friday, my friends! I don't know how everyone else feels, but this week felt like it flew by to me. I'm in disbelief that it is already Friday. Scrolling through my pictures this week, I apologize up front that this is mostly a kid post. I did nothing but spend time with my kiddos and I won't say I loved EVERY minute of it, because that would be a lie (the hours of 2-4 are HARD, y'all), but I loved the vast majority of my time with them and I'm finding the SAHM thing a little easier each week. I'm convinced I have the best babies in the world.

ONE.

Facebook reminded me that Chris and I got engaged 7 years ago this week! June 21, 2010, I answered the easiest question I've ever been asked. Best. Decision. Ever. 7 years, 1 state, 2 moves, 2 jobs, 1 house, and 2 kids later, I'd still answer the same, just louder and less polite so he could hear me this time (he never heard me say "yes" the night he asked). Love that man! He is an awesome husband and an incredible dad.

TWO.

Wednesday we had a mega outside day. We hit up the park in the morning, stopped by to see my in-laws, and then enjoyed their awesome pool area. We had such a fun time with Nana and Papa! I had to drag Zoey away and they had to promise she could come back Friday, so we'll be heading there at some point for a bit today!

THREE.

Yesterday, I ruthlessly went through all of my very favorite baby Zoey clothes, that I hadn't already given away, and packed up two big bags for a friend of mine who recently found out she's having a baby girl! Our little friend clan is heavy on boys so I'm thrilled to be able to hand down some baby clothes! I also have a pile of big Zoey clothes for my other girlfriend's daughter who is about a year younger than Zozo. I love seeing my favorite clothes on these other sweet babies and I need these sweet things out of my house before I fall for the trap of wanting another tiny baby! This shop is CLOSED.

FOUR.

My Zoey girl, since the moment she was born, I've always called her sassy and that just shines through more each day. I adore her. She is a sweet and patient big sister too. She tests my patience daily, but that's all part of growing and learning (I really try to think about this before I react...so. hard.) I never dreamed I'd be so lucky to be mommy to this angel though.

FIVE.

This picture, I am saving to compare to a look he'll give me when he is about 14 (minus the drool, hopefully). This baby is the sweetest little thing. He steals hearts with his ear to ear grins and lets me hear about it when he's hungry. I am loving every minute of watching his personality develop - I think he's his daddy's mini me. How on earth did I get lucky enough to have TWO easy babies? I can't even be mad when he wakes me up at 4:30 for the day - the smiles he gives out are just that good. He's my angel boy.

Well, I'm off to wrangle these 2 cuties for the day and then tonight, I'm headed to supper club!! My girlfriends rock, I hosted a lack luster kick off and they've since taken the idea and run with it!! I can't wait to host again so I can do it right.

I hope y'all have an amazing weekend. Linking up!

See y'all next week!
