Five on Friday - It's been a rough week

Happy Friday, Y'all! I'll be honest, my heart is really not in this post today. It's been a tough week for me professionally and for our family emotionally. We lost Chris's grandma (and his last surviving grandparent) this week and I've been feeling pretty emotionally beat down at work. So today, I'm just going to post five things from my Pinterest boards that best describe my week.

One.

I Love ABA!: "Quote of The Day" - awesome memes:

Two.

Five.

high five to all of you :):

and for those of you who just tune in for a cute kid picture...

Luke is rolling from back to front, but sometimes just tuckers himself out and gives up halfway.

Zoey was sleep eating dinner last night after a very busy day with her grandparents. They're good.

Thanks for sticking with me through a tough week. I hope to be back with a more upbeat five next week and maybe a post in between now and then!

Five on Friday - This weekend only has two days?

Hi, friends! Happy Friday! I'm so thrilled it's Friday, but a little in shock that this weekend only has two days and not three or four like I've been used to lately. I've really come to love my Five on Friday posts though, because it forces me to look back and find the good moments of the week. I'm always in a happy and relaxed mood after posting, so let's get to it!

ONE.

Saturday, we headed over to my in-laws for their neighborhood "Eggstravaganza". It was a fun event. Zoey faced her fears and finally got in a bouncy castle - she had a BLAST. Luke was pretty content for me to wear him too. Doesn't he just look adorable in his 3+ hat that fits his head almost perfectly?

Later, Chris and the kids evacuated the house and allowed me to have a nice evening with some of my girl friends. I can't wait to do it again!

TWO.

Easter Sunday, we played with Easter baskets and had a yummy lunch at Chris's parents' house. It was a really nice, chill day. Side note, I'm really loving the ability to see my in-laws so often. They're the best a girl could possibly have.

Three.

As luck would have it, we did not incur any bad weather days this year and therefore, I got our bad weather make-up day (Easter Monday) off! Zoey and I packed up Luke and dropped him off at daycare so we could have some much needed Mommy & Zoey time. We picked up groceries and then after a quick stop home, headed to see Beauty and the Beast!

Our local movie theater does "Mommy Mondays" where tickets are half-priced and they keep the volume low and the lights up. It also happens to be a dine in theater.

Zoey ordered chicken fingers and a fruit cup and then settled in to watch the 2.5 hour movie with only one trip around the movie theater during a long period between songs. She was entranced and has been singing the songs and reenacting the scenes ever since. I'm incredibly impressed with her attention span.

She even conned me into buying her the Beauty and the Beast Busy Book at Costco so she could use the figurines to reenact the scenes. She loves the end scene where Gaston tries to fight the Beast and LOVES when dad reenacts it for her.

Gosh, I had such a fun day with my sweet first born.

Four.

My weekday mornings may be CRAZY, but no matter how late I'm running, I will always spend a little time enjoying these two and the already sweet bond they have.

I will also always enjoy my little bit of country scenery on the way to work while it still exists. This is when my morning slows down for just a minute - that minute of calm between being mommy and middle school teacher.

Five.

I'm obsessed. I rarely wear lipstick because it rubs off and I kiss my babies A LOT so I hate wearing it, only for it to rub off when I kiss them goodbye each morning. This stuff STAYS ON and comes in the best colors. It's also super hydrating and not sticky like a gloss. Is anyone else into this? What's your favorite color?

Looking forward to a low-key weekend with my loves. Have an amazing weekend everyone!

Five on Friday - FOUR day weekend!

I have been back to work for a whole 8 days and I'm probably the most excited about this FOUR day weekend! It feels like Saturday to me and wrong to be typing up my Five on FRIDAY this morning. Chris even gets the day off so it's a huge super bonus to have an extra day with him! Life. is. good.

ONE.

We attended the annual Journey of Hope Breakfast with the Easter Bunny. It is by far my most favorite charity event we do all year. The breakfast is amazing and Zoey has a blast playing the games, visiting the musical petting zoo, and participating in the Easter egg hunt. The only downside to this year's event was the Frozen bike up for raffle...we walked away with a very teary toddler and a birthday wish to fulfill. Overall it was a super fun morning though!

TWO.

Now that our siding is freshly painted, we've been fixing up our backyard patio. Chris got rid of my shredded (cat) outdoor rug and replaced it with some awesome wood tiles from IKEA. These two have really been enjoying the extra outside time since the weather has been so beautiful.

THREE.

We had an impromptu date night last weekend. We planned to go see a movie, but it just didn't work out so we settled for dinner at Grub Burger Bar. We are SO glad we missed the movie - both of us had forgotten how nice a dinner without kids could be.

FOUR.

I noticed one of my favorite bracelets had fallen off when I got to school and upon further investigation, I found it was broken. Normally I'd be devastated, but lucky for me, it's Chloe and Isabel. So I hopped on my phone, submitted a picture of the damage, and they shipped me a new one, free of cost! I'll have to do a post about my obsession soon (not paid or compensated for saying these things, just obsessed with beautiful jewelry).

We are looking forward to a beautiful weekend outside, Easter baskets, time with family, my girls' night and LuLaRoe pop-up, and a mommy and Zoey day of fun on Monday. Enjoy this beautiful weekend!

Five on Friday - Back to Work

Hello, friends! I'm here to tell you that I survived my first week back to work. I am full of lots of emotions - thankfulness for my wonderful administration and team for the support this week, love for so many coworkers who have become friends, sadness to leave my baby, stress to get caught up and pump enough to feed my hungry boy, joy for doing something I love and am good at, desperation to be at home with my babies full time, tired. I'm just running on moxie at this point, but I wanted to at least post my five, because I really do love keeping up with this little blog.

Also, so many of you filled me in on what's to love about Lularoe and one of my girlfriends from high school is a distributor, so lucky me - she was willing to come down to host a pop-up next Saturday, April 15th at 5 PM. She has a huge inventory and I'm so excited to try on and find some fun items. Let me know if you want to swing by and I'll send details.

On to my five.

One.

How we felt about the weekend ending and the work week beginning. Luke has done an outstanding job at school this week though. He's gone through about 900 onesies and has really enjoyed socializing with the other babies. He's falling into a routine and getting comfortable enough to take longer naps. Very thankful for a loving environment to bring him and Zoey to each day.

Two.

The mornings are a marathon. Wake up at 5:30, 5-10 minutes for make-up and hair, change and dress Luke, feed Luke, pump, get dressed, wake up Zoey, change and dress Zoey, make sure the pumped milk makes it into the fridge, brew coffee (decaf due to nursing, but I like to pretend its caffeinated at least), pack lunches, snacks, bottles, load work bag, pump bag, my lunch and sometimes Zoey's lunch, 2 backpacks, jackets, and breakfast for me and Zoey, buckle Luke into his car seat, load Luke in the car, negotiate Zoey into her seat depending on the level of threenager that day, and roll out. By the time I get both kids safely dropped off at school and I'm heading to work, I've accomplished enough for the day. It'll get easier, right? right?

Three.

I'm thinking about ordering a couple of swimsuits from cupshe. I've read some decent reviews about the site and their suits are well reviewed. Any thoughts? These are the two I had narrowed it down to a while ago. I'd love a one piece too. Basically anything that won't be pulled down when I'm in the pool with the kiddos - learned my lesson during swim lessons with Zoey last summer. Yikes.

Four.

I just ran across this on Instagram. So true. I sometimes try to connect with the mommy's at daycare and this is pretty much what I sound like. Making new friends is hard!

Five.

Oh. My. Word. - I just got a {fix} and Jamie really outdid herself (hey, girl!). I love every single thing she sent me. This outfit actually got a glowing review from a normally very sweet, but not overly enthusiastic Chris. I'll post the whole fix sometime this weekend - it's by far my most favorite fix and I've had...a few...over the past few years.

Bonus.

Cute kids. I love the heck out of these two.

This weekend we are relaxing, getting ready for a FOUR day week (woohoo, Good Friday!), and having some fun at the Journey of Hope Breakfast with the Easter Bunny event.

Have a fab weekend. See y'all soon.
