Nursery Tour

A tour of Zoey's nursery...

Gorgeous wreath from Sarah and Shhh sign from her mom in law.

Changing Table/Dresser and the beautiful diaper cake made by my sis.

Our diaper caddy for the inevitable diaper changes all over the house. Includes diapers, diaper cream, waterproof multi-use pads and Costco wipes.

Inside the Dresser: wipes, more diapers (to be added), bibs, burp clothes and extra pacis

Clothes and Sleepwear *Update (pics) - I did get the Ikea organizers and everything looks much better in the drawers!*

Beautiful crochet blanket by Sarah and our incredibly comfy rocker.

Our diaper bag - not too feminine so Chris can feel good carrying it around but still trendy.

The most perfect lamp - Minnie and butterflies.

Lots of blankets

Diapers, wipes, more clothes and toy storage :)

More diapers and closet storage

Zoey's wall of friends, lovingly made by her daddy. He spray painted an Ikea frame, painted the glass with magnetic paint and put magnets on the back of these adorable mini clothes pins.

Currently all of her friends are sweet little boys!

Zoey hasn't just claimed an amazing room for herself...she's also managed to take over most of the house.

Zoey's temporary sleeping arrangement in our bedroom.

Her Fisher Price snugabunny swing and snugabear bouncer (complete with honey bees) in the living room.

Bottles, Pacis, Bibs and more...she gets her own cabinet in the kitchen!

Stroller and car seat in the office...

...and bath items in the guest bath!

We're ready and we can't wait to give Zoey the grand tour!

Pregnancy Journal - 38 Weeks

Pregnancy Journal - 38 Weeks

How Far Along? 38 Weeks

Size of Baby: Watermelon - 19-22 inches and 6.5 lbs

Gender: GIRL

Maternity Clothes: Dresses...I squeeze into my maternity jeans one night a week for 2 minutes to take this picture.

Best Moment This Week: Teacher Appreciation was a great week! I was given some gorgeous homegrown roses from one of my amazing co-workers. We chaperoned/ran the photo booth at the 7th/8th grade Spring Dance on Friday night and had a ton of fun - love those kiddos.

"Pre" Mother's Day was awesome!! I received cards, flowers, a BBW gift card, Chris took me shopping for a few things for Zoey and we got Outback! So much fun - I'm loving this extra holiday! :) We had another good appointment this week too - but no progress. She gets about 2.5 more weeks to come out on her own... I'm trying to have a positive attitude and I know it's good that she's "baking" longer but at this point it feels like I'll never get to meet her.

Nursery: Just waiting on the baby!

Movement: Lots of wiggles! I was up sick Monday night and she was moving SO MUCH...I think my late night activity was disturbing her beauty rest.

Cravings: Chocolate Milk, Strawberries, Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream, Baked Cheetos, Caffeine Free Dr. Pepper

Symptoms: We got our Tdap vaccine this weekend and were both the "one in three" to suffer from extreme tiredness - we got home and both sat on the couch, not moving for the rest of the day. I was also the "one in ten" to get nausea and vomiting. Tdap is rough man! Wedding rings are still off due to slight hand swelling :( Otherwise, I'm feeling great! No contractions whatsoever - boo.

Sleep: Sleeping great!

What I Miss: Shorts, normal clothes, the usual

Looking Forward to: Finally having my lesson plans completed for my 2 weeks of maternity leave, packing those hospital bags (although, no rush apparently), maternity leave itself and holding my baby girl.

Pregnancy Journal - 37 Weeks

Pregnancy Journal - 37 Weeks

How Far Along? 37 Weeks

Size of Baby: Watermelon - 19-22 inches and 6.5 lbs

Gender: GIRL

Maternity Clothes: Dresses...

Best Moment This Week: What a great week! One of my sweet, sweet students shopped for Zoey and got her these adorable outfits. I feel so blessed to teach such thoughtful and precious students.

My sister also picked out a few adorable things for Zoey! She is too sweet. I can't wait for her to get here so I can dress her up!!

My work baby shower was also this week!
Everyone was so kind and sweet. One of my coworkers from last year even stopped by! I'm very lucky to work with such wonderful people.
Last but not least, we had our 37 week appointment, still no real progress to speak of but everything is looking good and her head is down. All of those scary bacteria and blood tests came back negative and I even lost 1 lb from last week. We also set an eviction date for her if she decides she's too comfy in there. :)

Nursery: It's ready for her!

Movement: Still lots of movement but more wiggles/stretches and less kicks. Lots of Hiccups too. Still loving it.

Cravings: Chocolate Milk, Strawberries, Mint Chocolate Chip Ice Cream, Baked Cheetos

Symptoms: Overheating easily, wedding rings are off thanks to slight finger swelling (it's been traumatic...I've never gone a day without them since we got engaged/married), I'm easily distracted and very forgetful. Overall, I have very little to complain about though- I'm still able to do everything I want and my discomfort is pretty minimal for 9 months pregnant. In the past few weekends, I've felt the need to line our kitchen cabinet shelves, organize our important documents and find a home for all the random things laying around the house - I think that's called nesting. :) I also made small thank you's for our nurses!

Just some chocolates to say thank you for taking care of us!

Sleep: Sleeping well but apparently snoring a lot, wah wah.

What I Miss: Copious amounts of coffee and that Cinco de Mayo Margarita :)

Looking Forward to: More house cleaning, a relaxing weekend, possibly packing those hospital bags and approximately 3 weeks from now! **and burning that shirt I'm wearing in my weekly picture**

Pregnancy Journal - 36 Weeks

Pregnancy Journal - 36 Weeks

How Far Along? 36 Weeks

Size of Baby: Large'r' cantaloupe - 19-22 inches and 6.0 lbs

Gender: GIRL

Maternity Clothes: Just wearing out those dresses...thank goodness the weather is nice!

Best Moment This Week: Another good appointment and our first check for progress...I'm thinned out but still closed up tight. We were also in and out of there in 20 minutes which is unheard of! I also finally got my hair colored and cut! Feeling human again.

Nursery: We have a mattress pad and sheets on the crib, a changing pad and cover and we are stocked with diapers and wipes! I think we're just about ready.

Movement: Still lots of movement and I can feel specific limbs moving around in there. It's still my favorite part of pregnancy and I will miss having her with me all the time once she's born!

Cravings: Chocolate Milk, Strawberries, Carrots and Guacamole, Ice Cream, Baked Cheetos

Symptoms: Nothing of note...I'm feeling really good! The weather cooled off and the swelling has gone down. No Braxton Hicks and no aches yet!

Sleep: Sleeping much better and snoring often (Chris tells me - I sleep right through it). Sorry, honey!

What I Miss: Just the usual...non-maternity clothes, sleeping on my back, Margaritas, being able to reach my toes.

Looking Forward to: Cleaning the house, my work baby shower, next weeks appointment, and approximately 4 weeks from now (although I'm calling it now, she's going to be at least 3 days late)!!

Pregnancy Journal - 35 Weeks

Pregnancy Journal - 35 Weeks

How Far Along? 35 Weeks

Size of Baby: Large cantaloupe - 19-22 inches and 5.5 lbs

Gender: GIRL

Maternity Clothes: Nothing new...no more pants. I'm circulating between my dresses and skirts and ready to be done with maternity clothes.

Best Moment This Week: We completed our last baby class at the hospital - this last one was a complete waste of time but we're glad to have done everything we can to prepare for Zoey. We also knocked out a few items from our registry that we absolutely needed. Feels good to be nearly ready for her to arrive!

Nursery: No changes but my order from Amazon finally arrived so after a load of laundry, I should be able to put together the final touches!

Movement: I couldn't sleep the other night due to this head cold I currently have but Zoey was keeping me entertained. She actually stuck the heel of her foot out where I could totally feel it! I almost woke Chris up. She dances all over the place these days and packs quite a punch...a few times she's caught me off guard and made me yelp from her wild movements. Most favorite part of pregnancy, hands down.

Cravings: Chocolate Milk, Strawberries, Carrots and Guacamole, Ice Cream, Baked Cheetos

Symptoms: Aside from the head cold, I still feel good! My belly button is absolutely an outtie now and my wedding ring is getting a little tight (but it is spring in Texas...or in other words, hot). I also experience a shock when I look at my bare belly in profile...yikes!

Sleep: Not sleeping great thanks to the awesome cold I caught over the weekend.

What I Miss: My energy and agility - I cleaned all 3 bathrooms last weekend and it took me ALL day...I used to be able to deep clean the entire house in one day.

Looking Forward to: Packing those hospital bags this weekend, finishing up the housework and relaxing with Chris...about 5 weekends of just the two of us left!

Pregnancy Journal - 34 Weeks

Pregnancy Journal - 34 Weeks

How Far Along? 34 Weeks

Size of Baby: Pineapple - 19-22 inches and 4.9 lbs

Gender: GIRL

Maternity Clothes: Nothing new...my only pair of jeans just keep getting smaller and smaller.

Best Moment This Week: My baby shower!! Such an amazing, amazing day thrown by my sweet sister and two wonderful friends. Zoey and I are very lucky girls. Zoey was accepted to a really great daycare and we're narrowing down her "school" plans for next year. We also had a great 34 week appointment on Wednesday, 2 more weeks until we find out if we're making any progress!

Sneak peeks from my shower!

My sister made this amazing diaper cake...she should seriously sell these.

The guests painted letters for Zoey's alphabet wall. Such a cool idea by my friend Katie!

My friend Sarah made this gorgeous wreath for our hospital room!

Zoey scored a lot of adorable stuff.

Nursery: Baby laundry has been done and we're just waiting on a few essential items from Amazon to arrive! My mom has been using her super power of finding deals to help us complete our registry without spending a fortune - she's the best! Still working on posting those pics. My blogging has been cut to a bare minimum with state testing at school and pure exhaustion from the extra 25 lbs. Hopefully I'll be able to get back to it before Zoey arrives!

Movement: Still very human-like movements, still loving it!

Cravings: Sonic Blasts, Chocolate Milk, Strawberries, Carrots and Guacamole

Symptoms: Pure excitement!!! I've actually felt pretty good this week.

Sleep: Snoring soooo much (sorry, Chris), I'm still sleeping pretty awesome though.

What I Miss: Clothes shopping...

Looking Forward to: Packing the hospital bags and deep cleaning the house this weekend! Also approximately 6 weeks from now...

Pregnancy Journal - 33 Weeks

Pregnancy Journal - 33 Weeks

How Far Along? 33 Weeks

Size of Baby: Honeydew - 19 inches and 4.5 lbs - We're in the melons now!

Gender: GIRL

Maternity Clothes: I bought a dress at Old Navy this weekend that was non-maternity and it fits awesome now but will look good after! Looking for more epic wins like that one. :) I must get a hair appointment though...my goodness.

Best Moment This Week: Our breastfeeding class on Monday was awesome! The lactation consultant was hilarious and I now feel very prepared for what's coming in that department. She also convinced me that I need a {My Brest Friend}...so that's now on the list. :)

Nursery: Still a few last minute touches but we're pretty much ready to go! Pics to come next week.

Movement: Wow, we hit 33 weeks and her movements really changed. She still moves all the time but they are very defined and human-like now. She is a constant entertainment!

Cravings: Sonic Blasts, Chocolate Milk, Strawberries, Carrots and Guacamole

Symptoms: Oh boy, I'm starting to slow down. My lower back starts to ache towards the end of the day and I find myself having to take more and more breaks during the day. Lugging around those extra pounds is hard! The pure joy and excitement for what is coming is getting out of control though!! I can't wait to meet our baby!

Sleep: Sleeping awesome, peeing lots, snoring a little...

What I Miss: My energy...

Looking Forward to: My baby shower this weekend!!! I've been looking forward to this for months and it's finally here! My sister and in-laws will be here - it's going to be a wonderful weekend! I'm also looking forward to our dr appt and touring our potential daycare next week. AND of course, approx 7 weeks from now... :)
